Bella made her way down the corridor to Spanish, passing all the posters with the 'scary' pictures of people in Halloween costumes. She really should go to that, she thought. Make some more friends. Lauren and Jess kind of bugged her, just how they always talked about makeup and clothes and boys like she completely wasn't there. Or maybe she was paranoid. And she could've sworn that someone was copying in trig... Although Bella wasn't great at trig at all anyway.
Fifty feet down the hall, Bella saw Jess and Lauren looking deadly serious and deep in conversation down the hall. When she was seen, Bella was received by smiles, but they looked pretty fake to her. She didn't feel like smiling anyway, so she didn't really care.
"Hey guys... Um, so what are you dressing up as for the Halloween party?" she asked, looking down at her grubby sneakers. Other pupils swarmed around them until the crowd began to thin once people started to diffuse to their lessons. They were together next, anyway.
