It was early morning, and after a restless night here i rainy Forks, Bella stretched and stared out the window, frowning at the cold gray clouds that hung over the town and forest like a cape.
She dressed mechanically, and went down for breakfast. Her dad, Charlie, looked at her suspiciously. Perhaps he'd heard her bawling last night. What else could she have done? Having exiled herself here in the rainiest possible town in the Olympic Peninsula, how could she not cry?
Bella had moved here from Phoenix, Arizona. Hot and sunny and dry. And now it was cold and cloudy and wet. Great.
Bella sighed as she washed her bowl and put it away in the cupboard.
Her first day of school. She knew no-one, not one person. Awesome.
Just another day in paradise.
